With ProShow’s built-in audio editing tools you can quickly open, fade, and trim your tracks added from the built-in music library with ease.
Working with music in ProShow is easy. Once you add your tracks from the music library in ProShow 7 you can quickly trim or adjust the fade in / out times to your liking.
Let’s take a look at a couple notes regarding the audio editing tools in ProShow
- All edits in ProShow are non-destructive. We do not save these changes to the source files
- Tracks added from the built-in music library cannot be edited outside of ProShow
- All edits in ProShow can be reversed or adjusted even after saving these changes in your show
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s get started!
Note: This article assumes you’ve already added a track from the Music Library. If you need assistance with adding tracks from the music library, click here.

Cross-fading the Track
In the Timeline Slide List View (keyboard shortcut: TAB), you can easily apply a cross-fade by dragging your track slightly over the previous track.
- Locate the section you want to cross-fade in your timeline. This will be where one track ends and another starts in most cases.
- Hold down the CTRL key + left mouse button to start adjusting the cross-fade on your track.
- Drag the track to the left until you see an Aqua Marine color blend between the two tracks.
- You will see an offset tool-tip appear showing you the amount of time being applyed to the cross-fade. This time is shown in seconds.
- When you’re happy with the cross-fade, release your keyboard and mouse buttons and this change will be saved to your show.
